Police investigating the alleged assault of two people at a food outlet in Devonport this week have charged four youths over the incident.
Police were notified of a disturbance on Best Street, on Monday, 12 October, in which a group of people is alleged to have assaulted a male youth and a woman aged in her mid-30s.
Investigations this week, including the analysis of CCTV footage, have led to charges against four people – three male youths aged 16, and a 15-year-old male youth.
The four youths have each been charged with two counts of common assault, and have been bailed with conditions.

The safety of all persons is of paramount importance, and the public are urged to not try and take matters into their own hands.
If anyone is a witness to, or feels threatened by, unlawful activity or anti-social behaviour, they are encouraged to report it to Police on 131 444. If there is immediate danger, people should call 000 (triple zero).

🎉💚🤝 Congratulations to one of Tasmania Police's trusted community partners - Neighbourhood Watch Tasmania Inc - which is turning 40!
Starting with the first ‘Watch’ at Risdon Vale in 1986, the community-led crime prevention organisation has now grown to more than 50 groups across the state, and it remains as relevant today as it was 40 years ago.
President and State Co-ordinator, Peter Edwards, said Neighbourhood Watch Tasmania Inc exists to help communities help themselves. “We can't expect the police to be everywhere, so we ask what can we do that can make a difference - collectively and individually? We can't help everyone, but everyone can help someone.”
Neighbourhood Watch aims to improve the quality of life for all Tasmanians, by helping to minimise preventable crime and promote good community relationships - particularly with the police.
👏 Well done to the members of Neighbourhood Watch Tasmania Inc - you're continuing to help build stronger and safer communities. Thank you!
